Aritst Feature: DJ Andy Pants

It's been a while since I've posted anything but we've got a special post from DJ Andy Pants aka Andrew Lurie out of Hofstra University. I've only heard what's on his soundcloud but after playing Pancha's basement last Friday it seems like Andy has a lot more to offer in the near future. His three mashups are super legit, using samples that you may have heard before but in a way that you haven't which is really refreshing. If mash ups aren't really your thing than enjoy nearly 4 hours of his mainly house/progressive set with a little something for everyone, including some trap to round it out. Lastly we've got Chasing the House which is a really unique progressive track that has some samples as background to his regular beats (from around 3:27 to 4:00) that I'm really digging on. Anyways I'll post a few of the tracks but be sure to head to his soundcloud here and look out for more from Andy moving forward.

Rosana

I'd never heard of Wax before today but I wish I had before. This video has been out for a month or so but has blown up in the past few days after making some rounds and for good reason. The song is insanely catchy and his rhyming is on point, the video is hilarious and Melissa Marie absolutely kills it. Make sure you give this song a listen, I have a feeling it's going to get big.

A Couple Things

John Butler's Ocean is one of my favorite songs of all time (and probably the thing that defines him the most), and it changes every time he plays it. If you've never heard it here's the newest version, and if you have, we'll here's one more for the collection.

If you've never heard Mateo take a listen to this sweet cover of Lana Del Rey's 'Blue Jeans'. Real mellow track with some killer vocals.


Hip hop and electronic music seems to be getting more popular, definitely not a bad thing.

Can never ignore a new deadmau5 track, and this one is no exception

Never heard of these guys before but they seem to have a pretty good handle on how to make a sweet glitch track

Chill track from G Eazy, as always it's worth at least a listen and if you've liked his other stuff you'll like this

A track with some Cudi that sounds more like his older stuff, it's about time.

Had to include this one, Lana Del Rey's vocals fit perfectly in her cover of Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana. Give this one a chance, it's good.

Keep It Going

Sir Michael Rocks (aka Mikey Rocks from the Cool Kids) has a solo album coming off and this first single features a remix of a Lana Del Rey track, totally dope.

Yet another sick remix by Xaphoon Jones, dude is getting major

New Paper Diamond to vibe out to, not as heavy as usual but still solid

Huge beat from some dudes I've never heard of, but definitely worth a listen cause this song is insane

For anyone who likes Moombahton, 5 & a Dime did a dope bootleg of Dillon Francis and Diplo

Sick ass bootleg from Candyland & Koyote, it has elements of house, d&b and a bit of trance all in there for a good combo

New Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes jam that rages real hard

My favorite song of the bunch, Stereoshock took so many dope songs and threw them together for this sick edit, awesome summer song if you ask me

Summer Jams

Haven't thrown up new music in a while so I figured some new summer jams would be a good place to start

I've featured Poolside before and they have the Cali/Summer vibe down in all their songs, this new one is going to be on their new cd which comes out July 9th, check out their website here


I always liked that song Too Close from the Bing commercial, but felt like the only strong part was the chorus, this mashup gives it a missing touch


Madeon is back with a 'minimix' which isn't so mini containing samples from over 90 different song, this young dj has some insane talent that's hard to overlook


I've posted a few remixes of Savoy's 'We Are The Sun' but this Big Gigantic one is too rad not to put up


Jakob Liedholm is coming up fast with his bootlegs and remixes, here's a couple well known songs he gives his own flare to so you can get a taste of what he's got
